It's Sierra Saturday! Let's play The Colonel's Bequest! Where we step into the role of young journalist student and amateur sleuth Laura Bow in her first mystery - invited by her friend Lillian Prune to a secluded island in the bayou, the estate of her curmudgeonly uncle, the eponymous Colonel Henri Dijon, Laura is witness, and since this is a Sierra game, frequent victim, of an Agatha Christiesque series of mysterious murders, which only Laura can solve... or can she? Follow us back to the roaring 20s, and try to solve the mystery with us in The Colonel's Bequest!

The Colonel's Bequest: A Laura Bow Mystery, is the first in a 2-game-long series of mystery games created by the legendary Roberta Williams, released in 1989, and serves as a sort of spiritual successor to the original Sierra adventure game, Mystery House. It invokes the murder mysteries of Agatha Christie with a healthy peppering of subtle and not-so-subtle references to the famous board game, Clue, and is a rarity in the Sierra catalogue as a much less linear, narrative driven experience, as opposed to the door and key puzzles of most of its contemporaries.
The NPCs are playing the DOS version, using the DOSBox Pure core through RetroArch with custom CRT shaders.
Sierra Saturday is a weekly series on the Level 0 NPCs channel, where Matt & Luke relive their childhoods playing classic adventure games of the '80s and '90s (and beyond?). Sierra adventure games were a special breed of dark humor, brutally unfair puzzles and unforgettable characters, and we hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane with us.
