The versions tested were the latest version on Xbox 360 and PS3. The game was installed on both systems.
The PS3 version, like some other PS3 games, has near constant screen tearing at the very top of the frame when the frame rate target is reached. For this analysis, screen tearing at the very top of the frame was ignored on both consoles so that the metrics on the chart are more easily readable.
When outputting at 720p or 1080p, the Xbox 360 renders at a native resolution of 1280x720.
When outputting at 720p or 1080p, the PS3 seems to use a dynamic resolution with the lowest resolution found being approximately 1066x600 and the highest resolution found being 1280x720.
When outputting at 480p (normal 480p on Xbox 360), both consoles render natively at 480p. These 480p modes have improved performance in some scenes, but not in others http://bit.ly/2SejSBL Note that these 480p modes have a lower effective pixel count during cutscenes due to the introduction of black bars at the top and bottom of the frame.
