Quern: Undying Thoughts is a game I don't hear discussed that poses the question "What if someone wanted to make a brand new Myst game totally from scratch in 2016?" The game absolutely nails the aesthetic of Myst games without blatantly copying them, right down to some subtle elements of subtext in their storytelling. If there's one thing to watch out for (other than the suspicious made scientist who brought us here) it's the difficulty of the puzzles as they don't seem to pull any punches.
