Considering it is the 35th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise...what better way to celebrate than to do a massive retrospective on every mainline game ever released from Konami. From the NES 8-bit originals to the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, PS2, Xbox and beyond! Because Castlevania is retro gaming royalty and it's only fitting we pay it some tribute!

If we are going to talk about the retrogaming franchise that is Castlevania...we need to start off where it all began...on the Nintendo Entertainment System! (or the Famicom in Japan as Castlevania was released in Japan first as Akumajō Dracula)
Up Next: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Konami really pulled an audible on the sequel to the NES original by changing up the entire formula! Sure its still and old school retro gaming action platformer...but it's also a quasi open world Castlevania a full decade plus before Symphony of the Night would grace the PS1. Sure it's a very hard and confusing game and it's definitely not what fans of Castlevania were expecting...but it's still one hell of a retrogaming experience!
I played this on the MiSTer FPGA NES / Famicom core!
