Simple Among Us Impostor Animation for Pixoo Pixel Art Display - Step by Step Tutorial
When we got our hands on our review unit of the Pixoo pixel art display made by Divoom we couldn't help but try to make a short Among Us animation. Don't ask us why... maybe because pixel art style is just perfect for this?
Please note: our tutorial may not be very detailed as the Divoom app you use to design animations for the Pixoo display is very easy to use. You just draw and add frames :) We focused on the design of the characters. We did it by adding new vertical lines to each subsequent frame.
The animation is 60 frames long (we reached the limit of Pixoo display here) and features 3 (and a half) walking Among Us Crewmates ;)
How we did it:
01:24 We created the first frame (first line of our Among Us character)
01:40 We added the second frame (the previous frame was copied automatically onto the current frame) and added another line
02:22 Repeated the process until whole character is visible on screen
03: 24 Repeated this again, while changing colors to green (line by line, frame by frame)
04:10 Repeated the sequence with another character, while changing colors to orange
04:44 Added final frames and changed the orange Impostor into... you see what :)
The animation is uploaded to the Pixoo frame automatically while you work on it but don't forget to save your project from time to time.
That's it!
If you not familiar with Pixoo: it is a 16x16 LED intelligent display controlled wirelessly by an iOS/Android App and can be used as a digital frame for displaying pixel art (static or animated), intelligent clock, music visualiser or text/emoji/logo display.
You can create your own designs for Pixoo or just download (and remix) pictures or animations shared by other users. There are also numerous competitions and challenges for budding pixel art creators.
