Skipping the Armored Armadillo Rematch - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
7,017In Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo, it's possible to skip the rematch against Armored Armadillo. Normally the game requires you to fight each robot master at least twice, but using this simple trick, you can skip the second fight against Armored Armadillo in Sigma Fortress Level 3.
To perform the glitch, simply stand in front of the boss door before the Armored Armadillo rematch and charge your Shotgun Ice power. Then walk forward just slightly so that the "Penguin Sled" collision box boosts Mega Man X forward into the boss door. If performed properly, the camera will not adjust to the position of the full boss room, and Armored Armadillo will not appear. Now you can simply carry on with the level.
The charged version of the Shotgun Ice power creates a "Penguin Sled" that X can stand on and ride as it propels forward. It also has a collision box that can push X forward. the goal here is to have the collision box "boost" Mega Man X enough distance forward so that he touches the boss door while bypassing the "loading zone" in front of the boss door, and the screen camera does not tilt upward. The trick is simple to pull off, even if the timing and spacing are very particular. A great speedrun trick, I'm sure.
