Having finished Nazir's first round of side contracts we can now return to the Sanctuary to progress the questline. When we arrive our friend Cicero has just arrived as well, as we witness his conversation with the rest of the family. Astrid then gives us our first real contract - we're to head to Markarth to talk to Muiri. After that we make sure and talk to everyone in the Sanctuary to get their take on the Night Mother situation as well as our current contract before heading out.

Muiri wants revenge on an ex-lover who turned out to be a bandit who used her to get close to the Shatter-Shield family and rob them. She also wants revenge on the Shatter-Shields for refusing to believe her and casting her out over the whole affair. The target, Alain DuFont, is in Raldbthar, and this is where the quest Lost to the Ages dovetails in.

But before we head to Raldbthar, we need to take care of the optional objective first, which is Nilsine Shatter-Shield. We head towards Windhelm, then enter undetected by crossing the river and sneaking up through the door from the docks, which is not watched by guards. We find Nilsine in the Hall of the Dead, and while Helgird is busy on the other side we send her to join her sister. Well, not really, considering we trap her soul. And not just her soul, we want her body as well for our corpse collection. However, while I remembered to bring a black soul gem, I forgot to bring an embalming tool and linen wrap for that purpose. Fortunately this is why I have Serana carry those at all times, and with the Marriable Serana mod we're using we get a power to summon her to our location at any time. We do so, grab the tools we need, and add another trophy to our necromancer's collection. Technically Serana walking around the Hall of the Dead slightly breaks the no detection rule, but I can live with it. In fact, while she's here we go ahead and have her join us again for the first time in a long time, as we'll need her next time for Raldbthar.
