Before this, Link needed the help of a robot Gondo was able to fix with called Scrapper. This was because there was a missing propeller on one of Skyloft's two windmills.

Moving on, Link aligned both windmills so that they would both face the Light Tower between them. This caused a platform to rise up.

Link must play the Ballad of the Goddess with his Harp while Fi sings it with him. This create a beam of light that created a hole into a massive cloud dome.

This video just has Link flying into the Thunderhead, doing a bit of sightseeing, and finishing off with Link preparing for a very annoying puzzle.
