Slim Plays Undertale (Blind) - Introduction & Explanation
Hey guys, SlimKirby here, and welcome to the special Anniversary project!
A little over a year ago, I played Undertale for the first time. Since I was informed that this was a game best done blind (at least as a Youtube project anyway), I actually recorded that first playthrough. But, at the time, I decided not to release it on my Youtube channel just because I had a lot of other projects going on that I wanted to get done first, so I held on to the videos until I felt like it was a good point to release them. During that time, I fell in love with the game and was finding myself very enamored with the game's characters, the game's humor, the game's music, and the game's mechanics and functionality. It led me to actually considering putting this game in my personal "Top 5" video games of all time. Since then, I feel like maybe I was just kind of riding the hype I was having at that time, but I still really loved the game and consider it one of my favorites in recent years.
When my 10th Year Anniversary was starting to approach, I realized that it might finally be time to release this project, and figured the added twist that this was a series I recorded long ago would make it an interesting surprise. I'm sure many people were able to figure out the hints and piece it together, just based on the information I gave and information I gave in the past, but still, I am really excited about this playthrough.
This video is just explaining all of that and also explaining that the very first playthrough (the blind part of the playthrough) will just be focusing on my own experience through the game for the very first time. In other words, I won't be able to take any advice or suggestions while going through the game because...it's been finished already, lol. However, after this first playthrough, I will be doing a Pacifist and Genocide run alongside it, because the 3 main endings, I think, are a very important aspect of this game and I want to make sure I show the basic foundation of those runs, alongside any of the other special side quests and character developments and interactions. For those runs, I will probably be cutting out a lot of the in between stuff if I've already shown it in the first playthrough and focusing more on the actual challenges of pacifist and genocide, and all the unique stuff that will be appearing there. But before I get more into that, let's get this initial run done first, lol.
As I said, really excited to see how this goes, just keep in mind all I said, don't attempt to "backseat game," especially on a project that's been recorded for months, and most importantly, keep spoilers out of the comments section because even though I know this stuff already, I still recommend that if someone wants to play this themselves, they should experience it blindly, and I don't want that experience to get soiled for them.
Thank You!
