This video covers a lot of glitches that branch out of the endless stair glitch.

**Edit 28/06/2016 I have confirmed this to work in the Wii U port as well **

So recently I saw Episode 37 of Chuggaaconroy's Let's Play for Super Mario 64 DS and he shown some glitches near the end of the video where he goes to the third floor of the castle and clips out of bounds using a slide kick. This reminded me of a glitch I tried out around 2006 that I found online, where sometimes doing this glitch, the player can be shot into the sky, out of bounds and you can use it to bypass the endless stairs as any character, so I decided to do a search for the glitch but unfortunately found nothing except on the Mario Wiki page (thank god, because this is a pretty cool glitch that everyone needs to try). I spent the next 2-3 hours coming up with a technique to clip Yoshi (you can use anyone really) out of bounds as consistently as possible, and I finally found out how best to set it up (explained in this video).

After you manage to get shot up out of bounds (presumably you're still alive, not back outside the castle), you'll want to keep hold of Up until the touch screen map is barely on the screen, and then you'll want to move your character right in alignment with where the stairs will be. if you do this movement in the wrong order, the camera will spazz up and you'll land within the endless segment of the stairs (not a good idea). Once you've fallen into the area above the endless stairs (sometimes the graphics loads), you'll want to make your way into the warp by either jumping straight in, or feeling around for the chimney shaped part, and then jumping in.

Once inside the Bowser level, you can do a few more glitches. Performing the Yoshi invisible box glitch you can cause lots of platforms to disappear (crashing the game. All glitches shown). Defeating Bowser without ending the battle with your character wearing a Mario cap will cause a very strange glitch where your character plus Mario will be standing still, back to back until the next scene, then after that the end credits will cause your chosen character (in my case, Yoshi) to die during the part where it shows the level 'Rainbow Ride' which then returns Yoshi to the front of the castle with full control, but with the SFX audio layer disabled (this coulld be a great way to rip music/voices), AND a bunch of cool stuff can be done in the game, eg, Bowser's sub comes back, the second floor remains locked, umm...I'm assuming there's more (probably not) but yeah, all from this 1 glitch, the game becomes broken.

I did not discover this glitch, I brought it back because in some ways, Chuggaaconroy reminded me that it was there.

(Edit) If you still can't do the glitch or think it's fake, here's Swordlesslink's attempt using this setup:

Timestamps for this video are:
(Inside the Castle)
00:00 - 02:26 = Endless Stair Glitch Explanation #1
02:51 - 04:14 = Endless Stair Glitch Explanation #2
(Bowser in the Sky)
05:45 - 06:29 = Yoshi invisible box glitch
06:14 - 07:03 = Invisible platforms glitch (linked to above)
(Bowser in the Sky Boss)
13:17 - 13:53 = Defeat Bowser cutscene glitch
(Credits)
14:06 - 16:06 = Unstable credits glitch
(The rest)
16:07 - 16:20 = Disabled SFX layer (continuous)
17:26 - 18:16 = Revival of the Bowser submarine

All the gaps between timestamps are me playing the game casually, with narration here and there. The timestamps are just to skip that for those interested in the active parts of the video containing glitches.
Thanks for watching!
