A quirk with Special move parsing in Smash Ultimate.

In most fighting games, special move inputs that are partially completed when crossing up an opponent (or getting crossed up) will automatically be treated as having been the other direction for the sake of special move parsing in the input buffer.

In Smash, this is not the case.

One would assume that the always-face-opponent mechanic would result in this changing, but alas, it does not. If it did, Ryu and Ken would have access to some powerful cross-up-dependent option-selects.
