SMITE Ullr Gameplay
Ullr was added today to SMITE! He's an interesting God for sure but NOT an easy one, not a pick up and play God. His style is akin to Troll Warlord from Dota fame, being able to switch between ranged and melee mode changing his skills and his basic attacks.
Design wise, he's true to the lore for sure, nothing too fancy or flashy when compared to some of the other Gods. He's more reserved and humble. He does however...Make back a certain meme in one of his jokes oh man lol..One many were sick of. Skyrim related, you know the one.
One of the harder parts of playing him is knowing how to build him. I went with critical damage which seemed to pay off but I'm not 100% sure..It was too hard of a game to be too super aggressive like Ullr would want. Hades was our Guardian but often got melted but tried.
Transcendence may be worthwhile on him but it can take a while to build due to how expensive it is. Jotunn's Wraith though may be worth it but the cool downs aren't too much of an issue due to his passive which lowers them. Mana is the main issue early on at least.
I like his kit but it's tricky. His only stun lies in melee mode with Thrown Axe which is pretty sweet when you land it but it's single target only. So Ullr kinda wants a team with lots of CC since he can't disable multiple Gods at once.
It does feel quite nice when you land a killing blow with one of his skills though, especially Hail of Arrows is what I do enjoy about him.
Not sure of the priority of his skills either. That is a hard one really. I'd like to think his 3rd, Hail of Arrows/Glory Bound might be best but you don't want the mana cost of Glory Bound going up to high, it's his escape/initiation/chase tool.
His first ability Bladed Arrow/Thrown Axe, the thrown axe is great for a stun and Bladed Arrow clears creep waves. So yeah...It's kind of hard.
His second ability, Expose Weakness provides 10/20/30/40/50 bonus physical power for 5s and Invigorate gives 20/25/30/35/40% bonus move speed for 5s. They can be handy at times too.
Balance wise.. He's reasonable, I'd say balanced. He just will take practice and time for players to master but once you do he can be quite a force. His lack of CC is the only thing that might hold a player back really, his crits can be quite nasty!
Oh and man, that Vulcan was NUTS. Good thing we had Apollo though. Man it's amazing our team pulled this off, we maybe could have done better as a whole but we came together nicely in dire times there. Man, their team was tough, the Hun Batz apparently was building tanky.
Lastly, he is better in Conquest mode easily. He'd love the endgame just like Artemis due to his scaling.
