SMW Custom Sprite - Firaga Fighter (from Send Your Regrets to the Czar)
4A menacing foe, said to lurk in the heart of a volcano, is one of many soldiers who guard the Czar. There be many regrets sent if you come across one of these..."Firaga Fighters".
This is the big regular enemy that appears in the JUMP Team Kaizo ROM hack "Send Your Regrets to the Czar" for a brief section of the final level "Asphalt Meadows." While it's not my only room or my only sprite, it's definitely a standout moment when you first encounter an enemy that's about as large as a boss....and then you see the final boss of the hack being WAY bigger.
But of course, they also re-appeared soon after Czar's release with a quick C3 hack called "no name", where I basically made the entire game in the span of four days (with an extension soon after). "no name", despite being a Kaizo/Standard blend, uses the Firaga Fighter in a much less ruthless way.
I made the sprite out of just sorta playing around with the idea of making big boy sprites akin to stuff like Yoshi's Island, and I think it was after I drew the pieces that I decided to use it for my claimed Czar level at the time. The term "Firaga" is from Final Fantasy, which is also known as the "Fire 3" spell. Basically to put it in simplest terms, it's the most powerful basic fire attack you can pull off in those games. Fits for maybe the biggest fire-related enemy in modded SMW.
If the video doesn't make it clear on how this guy works, it mainly has two attacks: fire, and jump. When you approach the Firaga Fighter, it'll rise it's hand and spit out fireballs until you walk away or die. If you attempt to jump over it, it'll jump and attempt to kill you with it's massive fiery body. The catch is, it only jumps once, so you're safe to cross it from above once it's bounced a single time.

I have stated that I don't intend on releasing it to the central officially. What I cited as "lack of interest" from that C3 is only half the reason; it's because it's a pretty messy sprite that requires a fair bit of cleanup in order for it to be actually acceptable. I've at least made it easily customizable, though I am more interested now to expand on the enemy a bit...but not immediately.
