Snes style pixelation- quick n dirty [GameMaker Studio 2 | Vfx]
This vfx video tutorial shows you how to create a pixelation effect for a room transition in Gamemaker Studio.
This effect you see a lot in good old Super Nintendo and Sega games where the player is seeing a transition from a level to level or from a world map into a level. Famouse examples are Super Mario World or Secet of Mana.
The idea is simple: You set your fx layer of choise to a pixelate filter and add up the pixelate value in it. Once the screen is looking like a mess, jump to another room which is already pixelated and clear is slowy of the pixel effect also.
