A 1-credit clear of the arcade game Snow Brothers 3: Magical Adventure [snowbro3], played with WolfMAME 0.270. Score: 1,081,050. This is a fascinating mess. It's a bootleg of the 1990 classic Snow Bros, released twelve years later in 2002! The snow theme was painted over with a dinosaur theme, and then painted over again at the last minute again with a soccer theme. Lots of borrowed graphics appear (including the Cacodemon from Doom making a cheeky cameo appearance in round 30). The gameplay is remixed, mostly not for the better. For instance, the round 20 boss (who used to lurk at the bottom of the screen and move up) now starts at the top of the screen and peeks down, making it impossible to damage him most of the time. Because of a glitch in the game - or conceivably the ROM dump or emulation - sprites on the round 40 and round 50 bosses are entirely invisible, making a hard game even harder. (I died to an invisible enemy at 19:50 and got ambushed by an invisible sprite around 23:55 - some bad luck to offset the good luck in getting the BALL extend) The FM synth sound chip was swapped out, and the one thing I prefer about this to the original Snow Bros is that I prefer the music and sound effects here to the shrill FM-synth sound.
