SNOWDUST STORM - FIRST PROTOTYPE
Heyo there, whoever is watching this, Merry Christmas to you and looking forward to a Happy New Year! (And for me from the future, this is where you started it, now I hope you're proud where its at when you finish it :D)
This is the very first step in what I would call the development of "SUPER ARCADEPAK", which would be the tentative name for a big ArcadePak update where most (if not all) tracks are overhauled. The name will be used either for when the big update pushing the updated lineup is out, or when Kart v2 lands and the ArcadePak translation into that uses said name (in both cases, the existing versions of tracks might return but as "Legacy" tracks like Kart v1's Map Hell or a separate Legacy version).
With all of this said, this is the base layout for an overhauled version of the actual Snowdust Valley, but with much more height and wild ideas. The reason why it would be renamed to "Snowdust Storm" is because the original name might be used for a branching variation of this track, likely an easier variation or that doesn't take the same route but a similar setting so that it fits into the first cup slot, as the current version is the second track (and this overhaul is going to be harder for beginners to drive on, as you might have noticed).
"But why is it SRB2 footage when its for Kart?" Well, I ended up making this prototype layout through SRB2 and the WIP UDMF support, since it ended up making vertex slope stuff WAY easier and quicker for testing ideas, and I built it taking in mind the road scales for Kart (1280 FUs for Width) which is why I'm using Modern Sonic to showcase it here...though I admit that doing this was a lot of fun and might end up tempting me in designing something 100% for SRB2's Modern Sonic
Anyways, the visuals are virtually non-existent yet, but I hope that I can get to make something great looking through the UDMF slopes and the SRB2 2.2 assets; of course I will have to port the entirety of the track by hand to the original format and replacing/porting textures to Kart v1's format should I want to test it/release it as a Kart v1 update...but its a drawback I'm willing to pay compared to having to experiment and build something like this from scratch using the vertex slope objects...
(also the song playing is Vacant Lives from 1080° Snowboarding, music from that game is one of the things I definitely want to see in the final result)
