So I Got to Play Decarnation (2023) | Launch Review
Decarnation is a charmingly hand-pixelated and animated psychological horror adventure; the first release by the French indie developer Atelier QBD. I've gotten access to the game before launch and it had hooked me from the moment I played the demo a few months ago, and I couldn't stop playing until I got to the end of its 6-8 hourlong campaign set in the world of cabaret dancing in late 80s Paris.
Noteworthy to mention is that the maestro himself, Akira Yamaoka has contributed to the soundtrack with 10 highly atmospheric tracks to underscore to the surreal and haunting nightmare-dreamscapes protagonist Gloria visits during her Oddyssey into the depths of her psyche.
