This is my new hardest level in SMM2 for 2022. It's a a sci-fi themed level about an extremely dangerous monumental multidimensional battleship.

This level is brutally hard especially because of that dreadful sub-world.

I went all out with the difficulty of this level and I truly let go of all the shackles that have restrained me from making ultra hard levels. I've made this monstrosity in 2022 and that's enough hard levels from me. This level has been postponed since August 2022 for many reasons and I've always wanted to complete the entire thing.

It wasn't easy trying to present this level as a sci-fi or futuristic themed adventure. The battleship exterior looks archaic but it's fine because of the dope night background in it. The sub-world (the battleship interior) is vastly different.

For the sub-world, I used tracks as decorations in certain parts of it to give the level a somewhat futuristic vibe (sort of?) because the tracks have been carefully laid out like "microchip" patterns. I looked for ideas online and I found some nice microchip patterns to imitate. But I need more space to work with in the sub-world if I want the pattern to look more identical from where I imitated it.

A lot of the sub-world involves plenty of waiting and stalling the player. The sub-world was built with the theme of "psychological torture" in mind.

Why is there lava inside this battleship, you ask? I'm afraid that's not lava you're witnessing. That's some dangerous red gooey substance made possible by alien technology and that dangerous red ooze can still vaporize you if you touch it. No living creatures can take a dip in it.

The final boss in this level is the "Mothership's Core". It's a survival onslaught inside an evil structure which looks like a bizarre embryo.

Fun fact: This boss concept was an idea I've already used in one of my earlier levels in SMM1, all the way back in 2016! I believe SilentSnake should be familiar with this survival boss room concept.

The custom music inside the final boss room was heavily inspired by the looping music in zycou's levels. He's a creator who specializes in awesome story levels with spectacular atmospheric music. The music was meant to be like some kind of eerie alien music.

So this is it. My hardest level in SMM2 for 2022. I really went all evil with this one.

And I do NOT recommend speedrunning this level for a deathless run. Just don't do it for your own sanity. I truly struggled so much to complete the first clear-check of beating the entire level all the way from the beginning. ;_;

Clear from the START: 3 hours
Clear from CP1: 40 minutes
Clear from CP2: 6 minutes

My total upload time for the level was 3 HOURS & 46 MINUTES

Clear-check time in More Info: 6 minutes & 40 seconds (400 seconds from timer)

There might be an extreeeemely slim chance to beat this level with an unbelievably super fast time that could put my clear-check time to shame. I watched this video again and I can visualize other ways to optimize the time further. Just that....trying to connect all optimized outputs all together for one flawless deathless run would be a god-like performance.

Now I shared all this pain & suffering to the entire world for 2022. This is the last evil level that I'll ever make in this game, because I'm mostly just playing levels in SMM2 anyway and I'm not that much into level-making anymore.

I'm just glad that this is over, and I was able to express my own ideas for hard levels, but this would be the last time.
