SITUATION
The Viet Cong are prosecuting over one thousand small-scale attacks per month on government posts and isolated villages. A Mobile Riverine Force (MRF) is being established out of General Westmoreland’s desire to reduce these attacks by destroying enemy main force units operating there. The MRF, in short, is being conceived as a means of projecting ground power into a swampy delta interlaced with waterways and rice paddies. Task Force 116 will be the dagger of the MRF.
Platoons from SEAL Team ONE are being assigned to the Run Sat Special Zone at Doug Island in Vietnam, and for the most part will operate autonomously. Each SEAL platoon will have a mobile support team (MST) boat element assigned.

MISSION
Command wants X-Ray Platoon to destroy supplies at the NVA cargo loading area which was discovered yesterday night. This consists of the helicopter landing zone your team spotted which Intel believes is piloted and supplied by the Russians. As you know, Viet Cong Sampans are carrying supplies using the waterways. Additionally, HQ has requested further recon of areas north and NW Camp Kable.
