Solar-powered electric car Lightyear 0: 7 months of use on a single charge
Lightyear, one of the brands that has made a name for itself in the electric car market for a long time, was introduced this week, the solar-powered electric car model Lightyear 0.
New brands are trying to find a place for themselves in the electric car market, where the competition is heating up day by day. One of these brands, Dutch Lightyear, introduced the first solar-powered electric car model Lightyear 0.
Different brands are trying solar energy alongside electricity, but Lightyear is ambitious about putting it up for sale. The brand wants a price well above the market, such as 250 thousand euros, for the vehicle, which it announced that it will produce 946 units.
The only ambitious part of the vehicle is not its price. Lightyear 0, which offers a range of 625 kilometers with electricity, does 70 kilometers of this range with solar panels.
7 MONTHS ON A SINGLE CHARGE
According to the brand's claim, the vehicle, whose front, rear and roof are completely equipped with solar panels, offers the opportunity to use in the city without charging for 2 months in climates such as the Netherlands and for seven months in warmer climates such as Spain and Portugal.
Solar panels fill up to allow you to go 35 kilometers when the weather is clear.
The vehicle, which produces 174 horsepower and 1720 nm of torque, reaches 0 to 100 in 10 seconds. The maximum speed of the model is limited to 160 kilometers.
