Solo: A Star Wars Story Box Office Could Score Memorial Day Record
Solo: A Star Wars Story’ is directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, and the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jon Favreau premiered last week. The film is an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, where Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion. The film has suffered some behind the scenes drama with a change in directors, an acting coach being hired for Ehrenreich and some lukewarm responses from the fans asking if we even need a Solo spinoff movie. Ron Howard took over the reins of the movie, reportedly reshot most of it and recast a couple of parts to bring his vision of the film to life. Deadline is reporting that ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ is on pace with early box office tracking to possibly break the Memorial Day box office record domestically. The article is reporting that it has the potential to come in between $135 to $170 million domestically and $150 to $170 million overseas. Disney is tracking it between $130 to $150 million domestically.
John Rocha and Mark Reilly sit down to talk about these projections for the film and what projections seem to be correct for the film. They also offer their final numbers for the film overall for it opening weekend and for the end of its run. Let us know what you think about these reactions in the COMMENTS section below.
