Sonic the Hedgehog has had a significant impact on the game field after release. It didn't take long for other game companies and developers to try their hand at similar games. Sometimes trying to copy Sonic wholesale, trying to imitate fast platforming gameplay, sometimes but injecting some *attitude*. Some games where great, many weren't.

The 'not sonic' series is a look at various examples of games clearly inspired by the hedgehog. This sort of series catch-up will last throughout the rest of november, where each day we will have a one-off of a different game. There is no way to realistically play all them without resorting to a huge commitment so I tried to hand pick a pretty representative group. Good games, bad games. Well known games, obscure games. All across a wide variety of platforms.

I basically promise either a full game-over or finishing a world. If any games inspires me a full lp in the future, they will be in their own series.

In the future, post 2007 'not sonics' might get full runs within this timeslot, placed within continuity, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there
