If I had a cent for every time a song that's a complete rip-off of The Cure appeared as Rock Band 4 DLC, I'd have two cents. Which isn't much but it's weird that this very specific lifting happened twice. But where Far Too Near is a lame Pictures Of You, this is a lame Boys Don't Cry.


Yeah yeah I complain about bad songs too much, but in this case? With a band this indie?Just thinking about using all my free time and energy to start a band and the only kind of artistic statement I'd want to make with all those finite resources hosted on a risky venture...is the kind of music that was superceded over fourty years ago. For fuck's sake, the whole mythos of the Cure is they kept evolving, they went from post-punk to new wave to synthpop to pop-rock to alt-rock. If you're modelling a song after them, why would you forget about their spirit, their sense of ambition? Fuck music like this, literally try harder.
