In this episode, we play through Chapter 2 of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. In this episode, We are introduced to the group’s healer, Rhys. Rhys gets a letter for Titania. The letter reveals that Mist and Rolf have been kidnapped by bandits. She leaves and tells everyone to get ready for battle and wait for her to return. However, Ike, Boyd, Oscar, and Rhys run off to go get them themselves. When they arrive, the bandits refuse to hand the kids over, and so the battle begins. The chapter features a ridge in the middle with a forest on one side. We start on the unforested side, and have to fight our way toward the bandits. On turn 4, Titania shows up and joins the fray. We take down the boss Ikanau, but even after the chapter is completed a run-off goes to kill Mist and Rolf. As he prepares to swing, he is shot by an arrow. This reveals Shinon and Gatrie, two others mercenaries. Titania had gone to get them as reinforcements. The guys who ran off the get them get in trouble with Titania for disobeying orders, but the chapter ends.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Fire Emblem 9/FE9) is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems (a division of Nintendo) for the Nintendo GameCube in 2005. It is the ninth entry in the Fire Emblem series, a beloved Tactical RPG series known for its engaging gameplay, interesting characters, and support conversations. Path of Radiance tells the story of Ike, a young Mercenary who lives in the Kingdom of Crimea. When the neighboring nation of Daein invades Crimea, Ike and his mercenary company are forced to evacuate Crimea. When they encounter the lost princess of Crimea, Elincia, their lives change forever. What ensues is a journey of reclaiming their homeland, and confronting a deadly evil. Common themes in the game are racism, the circumstances of one’s birth, and the consequences of war. Path of Radiance is one of the most sought after and expensive GameCube games, and so not many Fire Emblem fans have been able to experience it. So I want to share the game with the world!
