38In this extra large ROM hack of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, we'll be speeding through each zone and completing the game with a special new game mechanic that's important to navigating the levels without losing lives. After collecting so many rings, Sonic will slightly gain weight, losing a bit of his speed and mobility in the process, this tends to make it more difficult when battling enemies and at worst, can even soft lock the player! after collecting so many rings, Sonic will come to an absolute standstill and lose a life, having gained so much mass that he can no longer continue through the level. To stop this from happening we'll need to locate and break the various question mark monitors found throughout each act to return back to the original weight/physics.
