Sonic 3 and Knuckles playthrough Part 19: Death Egg Zone {Sonic}
1Surprisingly,this final zone is actually really fun,compared to Metropolis and Scrap Brain Zone. If you can grab a Thunder Shield you'll be protected from the electrified floors scattered around. Lots of elevators that have spiked walls and missile launchers around here,and also areas where Sonic will follow a path through the air. The boss of Act 1 is a defense system that has 2 forms,and the 2nd is actually quite difficult with Hyper Sonic. In Act 2 you'll have a few areas with altered gravity,those are always fun. At the end of Act 2,the boss can't be hurt by you per se. You have to alter gravity at the right time so the little machines fly up into it. This can take a while. After that,Robotnik runs off and jumps into a giant robot. Take out both hands before they can crush you,and then you'll be chased from the side. The nose spits out fire at you every few seconds. Hit the face to force the mouth to open where the Master Emerald is,then get a hit or 2 in there before the laser fires. After it's destroyed,Robotnik makes a last ditch attempt to escape with the Master Emerald. Hit him several more times along this destroyed path and bring him down!
