Sonic Blast Heroes Arcade
Once again players must punch the pad as hard as possible for three times, with the aim of punching hard enough to eliminate the impending threat, win the game and most importantly save earth in hero fashion.
This game has three game modes, the classic stage selection, hero mode, and multiplayer. There are five stages that players can choose from in this title consist of stages that appeared in Taito's first punching machine game, “Sonic Blast Man". Only stage 3 is completely original.
Stage 1 was a Mohawk-headed robber who attacked women in the first game, now it's a robber in a bank.
Stage 2 was to destroy a truck in the old game and it's the same in this game.
Also, the target of Stage 4 was a giant crab in the old game, but has been changed to a kraken in this game, Stage 5 is always to destroy a giant meteor approaching earth.
So in order:
Stage 1: Bank robbers demanding cash at gunpoint!
Stage 2: A runaway truck at breakneck speed!
Stage 3: Dinosaurs restored from prehistoric times!
Stage 4: Giant sea creatures attack the ocean!
Stage 5: Meteorite approaching the earth!
Previous story-based punching machines, including the previous title, had only one mode and the stage was cleared when the total value of three punches exceeded a predetermined quota value required to clear the stage.
But this game has also a new Hero mode, in this mode the stage is cleared when the score of a single punch exceeds a predetermined quota value.
This mode has also the same number of stages of the classic one, but it can be completed in a single run, so you can hit five punches with a single coin. If you fail, you need to insert more coins and continue.
In Hero mode, the three-punches total are no longer saved like all previous titles, but only the single-punch record is saved. Only single-punch records are played on the demo screen as well.
This title is equipped with the CHLAC Abnormality Detection System developed by the Fusion Technology Laboratory, which uses an anti-cheating camera installed on the top of the cabinet to capture video and monitor the player's behavior.
If a player plays in a bad manner, the anti-cheating camera detects it as cheating through image recognition and warns the player that an“abnormal behavior has been detected,” and the player has to punch again, but if the player still does not change his/her behavior, the recorded result is reduced to zero losing the attempt, in the hero mode they lose the run and need to continue.
