How to get very low times on Sonic CD? (XBLA/PSN/Steam) just don't move and wait!

Go to the last checkpoint and just let the timer go to 9'59"99 , the timer will reset at zero and Sonic will respawn at the last checkpoint.

It doesn't work on the boss levels.
