Based on the current style of 2D classic Sonic games inspired by Sonic Mania, Sonic Chaos updates the 8-bit visuals of the original and adapts a play style more closely resembling the classic 16-bit games. The game has been in development for almost an entire year (at the time in 2018), of which the previous 3 months was spent building a brand new engine from scratch. Sonic Chaos uses this new engine, Crimson Engine, and with it the team had strived for classic Sonic gameplay accuracy.

*SPECIAL BIRTHDAY SPEEDRUN*
The special day of the year (and feels crazy to me how fast it came too), always have my sights focused on wanting to get a speedrun going on, especially in search for a world record. Last time I ran this category was back in 2020, to be honest as well, I thought I wouldn't run this category again, but I gained the inspiration and energy to really do it just a few hours ago.

My notes on the run:
Act 1 was solid, close to hitting my personal best which was a 41"56, at least one area could've been played slightly better. Act 2 on the other hand despite the sort of bad start, that was the major factor on the big improvement, the last 5 hits on Robotnik during the chase portion were okay, but the last hit was odd, right when I thought I got it, I might've been a few pixels off from the actual hit. 😂
Still though, GG's regardless. I plan on running it back one more time to try and get a sub 2 : 25, which I can say is possible.
Now from what I originally saw from another runner was that there was a specific glitch that caught my attention sometime last year, specifically regarding with act 2. Apparently it's possible to glitch from one area to another end of an area of some sort just from being in a flying state and landing on one of the moto-springs. The thing is, it's not possible to do this in the latest version since it got patched, but luckily I had one of the previous versions of the game that was able to do the glitch.
