Sonic Heroes: Team Rose Part 1: Sea Gate Tutorial & Seaside Hill
After dealing with the edgiest team in this game, I'm now switching over to the cutest team.
Amy Rose was looking at the newspaper and noticed a somewhat alarming headline about Sonic. She had to wonder where he was.
The wind blew her newspaper away, but it was saved from Cream the Rabbit flying in to catch it. The wind got stronger and blew her away, too, but she was saved by the huge umbrella from Big the Cat.
Cream, Big, and Cream's Chao friend Cheese, took a look at that newspaper and saw that Sonic, for some reason, kidnapped Big's frog friend, Froggy, and Cheese's twin brother, Chocola.
Amy had an idea! If they all work together, they can find all of their missing friends in no time. So they left the beach and went right to it!
----------
As far as gameplay goes, Team Rose is the polar opposite of Team Dark's. Team Dark's is the hardest team, but Team Rose is the easiest.
This team is so much the "Easy Mode" of this game, that this game forces you to go through the Sea Gate tutorial with them, even if you've already done that on your own from the menu with Team Sonic.
Nothing about the tutorial changes between teams, but the most significant different about using this team is how Big plays. Knuckles and Omega focus more on melee combat, but Big has a slight emphasis on long-ranged combat. He can "Fire Dunk" on the ground AND in the air, while only Knuckles and Omega could only do that in the air. Big also lacks a real Fire Combination, but instead he can use a Belly Flop.
Amy is kinda different from Sonic and Shadow, too. She's the Speed-type of her team, but she's actually slower than any other Speed-type. She also can't Triangle Jump at all. To make up for this, she can hover with her Piko Piko Hammer if you hold the jump button, and her tornado attack shoots forwards like a projectile instead of staying in place.
On any rare occasion that you can use Cream on foot, her attack is to (of course) sic Cheese on nearby enemies.
----------
After Sea Gate, THEN you can immediately start Seaside Hill. Another thing that makes Team Rose's playthroughs easier is that their levels are shorter. They're often toss further into the stage as their start, and they also often end that same stage sooner than other teams.
The game really designed them for beginners, but it doesn't really often feel that way because most fans would likely either play Sonic's team or even Shadow's... just because of Sonic and Shadow being in them.
Either way, I'll take care of this team as well, before I move on to the last (and arguably most important) team of this game's story.
