Glitch Type: Softlock (boss despawn)
Platform: PC

So somehow on my first play-through of Sonic Mania I managed to despawn the act 1 boss of Stardust Speedway. resulting in a softlock where i had to restart the stage in order to try again and beat the boss for sure the next time.

the steps taken to reproduce the glitch aren't that accurate as I took out all the minor bugs the first time (and dodged it just in case it was the trigger point) but I had to make sure both sonic and tails had to take damage during the heavy beam attack
