Sonic Mania Plus: Encore Mode Part 5: Press Garden Zone (Team Super)
586One of the original Special Stage rings is still behind a locked door in Act 1, but in Encore Mode, new ones are cleverly added. The first one in Act 1 is past the first original in Mania Mode. You have to use Sonic's Bubble Bounce to reach a brand new underground path behind a breakable box. Another Act 1 ring is right at the very end before you face the boss. Knuckles might not be able to reach it, though.
The recoloring in Press Garden in general seems to give it a more nighttime look, but Act 2 is still beautiful. One of the big Rings there is the same, but it's just slightly trickier to get to instead of just using an Ice Spring. The other big Ring I find here is also completely new.
Also, this game's "Plus" patch added new sprites for everyone when they get frozen. They now turn their eyes depending on which way they're sliding, and they'll also nudge their eyes each time you try to break them free. This even works with Super Sonic!
