Sonic Origins: Sonic 3 and Knuckles (Knuckles: Glitch Run) (Part 3/3) - Mirror Mode Playthrough
0So, I was majorly hyped for this game to come out, and now that it's finally here; I can speak my mind with it. The good thing, is... well; it's a collection of 5 great games, there's some extra content. The Story Mode is a nice touch (though imperfected and not exactly what I'd hoped for).
But then there's the bad and... hoo boyo... as a fan of Sonic since I first played the games, this collection has so many bugs and issues; that it rapidly falls apart if you're at all familiar with the game as a whole. And NO, I'm not just talking about the music replacement. It's the physics and bugs and that get me. The Dropdash is a nice addition to the gameplay (though I didn't even realize it was in the game until Spring Yard Zone because I skipped the tutorial), until you realize the physics for it are broken in Sonic 1 and 2 resulting in some GBA level physics defying; which is funny, because it works fine in Sonic CD and S3&K, leading me to wonder... how?
There's a lot of minor audio bugs, and in game glitches, that really hurt my soul (I got a lot of them just playing casually); though join me in Sonic 3 & Knuckles if you want to see the most of it. Can I still recommend this game? WELL...
If you're new to Sonic, and just want to see why people loved these games back then; absolutely, play Sonic Origins, I'd wait for a price drop, but it's a great introduction to the games. The bugs and issues I've described mostly only prop up, if you're like ME and have played these games so much, you've basically memorized their entire routine. If you're new, you likely won't stumble across many of them aside from the visual bugs which don't actually matter that much.
