The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC - Vanilla) - Part 02: Bypassing the Leveling Issue
0This one was long time in the making. Oblivion is one of my all time favorite games, and getting a chance to replay through it for the channel, was honestly something I've wanted to do for a while. But I really struggled with HOW I wanted to do this playthrough.
What I ultimately decided upon was no commentary, and a Vanilla experience to showcase just how this game looks and feels without mods or any number of other weird things attached to it; because it feels like Bethesda games only get played for their mod support (and nothing against that; these games are amazing when modded).
However, I like to stick close to a vanilla experience whenever possible. I will be showcasing bugs and glitches all over, among other small things.
Oblivion's leveling system is kind of garbage. And it's almost impossible to build a well rounded character without a pen, paper, hours of careful work, and even then; maintaining the system and leveling the right skills while not leveling up the wrong ones to keep your character strong enough for the challenge is a major pain... so I elected to use the Console to put my stats at a flat neutral rate. With proper leveling, you can probably get way more then I have here; and with the Difficulty always set to the flat default rate, it's not like it makes the game 'too easy' or 'too hard.'
This was recorded using Movavi Gecati, and edited using Movavi Video Editor. Gameplay was recorded from the PC version of Oblivion, off the Steam release. NO Mods are in use during gameplay.
