Part 2 of my first playthrough series of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) on Xbox 360. This video contains the entire length of the Shadow the Hedgehog episode. No audio commentary. Full and uncut to give a feeling of a live experience. The videos in this series are like a longplay, but not in one single video. The series is done in separate parts because a single video would be too long/large for me, and YouTube limits the features of videos after a certain length.

Thanks to my friend Groudon199 for letting me borrow his Xbox 360 and some games; because of that, I finally got to play Sonic 06. My focus here was to play through the entire game and beat it while exploring as much of the game as possible. I take my time and try to collect a lot of the game’s collectibles, see how the game functions, complete missions, get S Ranks, etc. As a result, this video is nearly 7 hours long. I’ve written the timestamps for important parts of the video down (start of stages/missions/etc.) which you can use as a viewing guide, although you will miss a lot of interesting content by solely using the timestamps to navigate through the video.

I game overed at times, so the timestamps will begin at the final successful completion attempt of each stage/mission. I didn’t lose any progress in this episode, as I saved numerous times throughout it (I made sure to not make that ridiculous mistake again, after wasting a lot of time in Sonic’s episode due to not saving). This video has almost an hour of length solely from my very bad play in two stages (I took way too long to beat Iblis and Aquatic Base). The next part will have less of these mistakes.

My thoughts about this game through Part 2: This episode was a bit harder than Sonic’s episode, mostly due to poor controls in some stages and some missions that were less fun. I liked Shadow and Rouge’s gameplay, but I thought Omega was a bit less fun to play as. The level design in this part of the game was noticeably worse than in Sonic’s episode. I found specific bugs that hindered me significantly. One notable problem that made me angry was one area of Kingdom Valley with Rouge; I was climbing along one of the pillars and could not seem to get off of the pillar in any way. I had to die and lose all of my points to be able to move onward. Another big issue was the frame rate, as it went pretty low in some of the hub worlds in ways that I didn’t see in Sonic’s episode. This was a common occurrence. Shadow’s combat was fine, although I felt like the move-strengthening powerups that you can buy to use didn’t do much of anything to strengthen my attacks (or be of use at all). Otherwise, I felt that the story was nice and I didn’t have any real complaints. I like Shadow’s decisions in this game, and they work well with the story from the past Sonic games.
