Somehow, even the Japanese version of this game (Sonic & Tails 2) keeps this exact name for this Zone, otherwise, it would've been called "Eggman Winter Zone".

You will sometimes get a snowboard to ride on, but it's not needed to complete both Acts. You'll spend time sinking through snow pits and getting lifted into the air by breezy updrafts.

By this point, I've already gotten all of the Chaos Emeralds that I could, and it's because of this that all remaining Emerald Monitors will now instead be Ring Monitors.

That said, for this Zone, they should appear at 1:03 for Act 1, and 4:50 for Act 2! Again, they are Ring Monitor now for my playthrough.

One of the enemies of this level are the Punguin Bombers. They are created by this Zone's Act 3 boss: Giga Thomas "Pen".

After you climb up a mountain the reach Giga Thomas, you then just have to keep hitting it from the side while it keeps dropping more Penguin Bombers. The exhaust flames WILL hurt you if you hit it from below, but it loses them as it takes more damage.

Afterwards, it falls down a pit, but then Sonic also drops and lands on solid ground.

A few paces to the left, and Knuckles hits his 3rd switch! This time, it's not a firestorm, but a more-fitting avalanche!
