FAQ:
Q: what is this weird menu that showed up at the start of the run?
A: it was recently discovered that by pressing CTRL + Enter, which is the frame advance tool of flash player, this brings up a hidden debug menu. When the multiplayer battle is pressed, there are no enemies loaded in, and the battle ends after your first turn since the game sees there are no enemies anymore. The singleplayer battle always spawns in a single Level 5 Metabii, and we beat this stage because if we don't, upon pressing next stage the game for some reason loads in another multiplayer battle, which we don't want after 1 instance

Q: what benefits does this feature give / how come you have infinite money?
A: because the debug fights were never actually meant to be finished by a player, they don't have a set exp and money range that should be rewarded after the end of the fight. Apparently this makes the value default back to NaN (Not a Number). Unfortunately exclusively in Sonny 1 you always stop gaining exp when leveling up, so we can't reach level 30 in a quick way in this manner (unlike in sonny 2). (I think) the reason why NaN counts as infinite money is because the game checks if the amount of money sonny has is greater than or equal to the amount of money the item costs, and the logic here is that both "NaN is greater than x" and "NaN is smaller than x" yield True for every conventional value of x, which causes it to basically be infinite

Q: why are you dropping items into the ability menu?
A: it's been known for a very long time that exclusively in Sonny 1 dropping an item in certain menus will cause the item's stats to be added to your stats without actually equipping you with that item or checking if that slot is available, this causes Sonny to essentially "eat" the item and absorb its stats, which is why this glitch is often called the item-eating glitch

Q: why is this category called no stage skips?
A: when pressing CTRL + Enter while in a fight, this will cause the fight to immediately end in a win and thus advances the storyline by 1 stage. Since skipping every single stage and then buying some items to beat the last stage as intended is a very uninteresting way of playing the game (some might argue this run is also not very interesting but I digress) we decided to split both any% and 100% up into 4 categories to allow for as many different ways of playing the game as possible:
- glitchless: bans all glitches that have a meaningful impact on the run
-no debug: bans only the usage of CTRL + Enter in any circumstance, so the item-eating glitch and such are still allowed. If you want to see a 100% run where debug tools aren't abused you can find one here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TI8VG0T5gs
-no stage skips: as stated earlier only the usage of CTRL + Enter in battle is banned (or in other words every stage in the game has to be completed in order by defeating all enemies)
-unrestricted: anything goes, the only requirement is that the final stage is completed by defeating all enemies.
The leaderboards don't yet resemble this split but it has been agreed on by the community and should hopefully be implemented soon enough

Q: why do you switch to Flame Strike in Zone 4?
A: I do this because the item with the blue background I buy in that shop gives +300 fire piercing, which is the highest amount any item in the game gives of a typing sonny can actually attack with (the paladin armor gives an insane amount of poison piercing but unfortunately sonny doesn't learn any poison abilities in this game). This is useful because piercing increases crit chance (which is pretty much 100% at that point) and crit damage, which is helpful since Omen and Sinjid have a lot of health.

Q: why don't you buy more items so you can 1-shot Omen in zone 4?
while you could buy enough of them to the point where you kill Omen the first time he uses his Enrage ability, but this ends up adding so much extra menuing that just stunning him with shatter bolt after the Flame Strike and going for a 2-cycle ends up being quite a lot faster. It's also nice that Sinjid is still a 1-hit KO at this point, although it's not absolutely required since you could use Subversion on yourself to survive his first Mana Bomb and then take him out afterwards. That doesn't really matter though since anything worse than a 2-cycle on Omen is not really viable since he deals far too much damage while enraged to Sonny, I haven't tested a lot with it so there might maybe be something but I think it's pretty unlikely
