From Comicbook

“Back in 2019, the main face associated with the PlayStation brand at the time happened to be that of Shawn Layden. Serving as the Head of Worldwide Studios beginning in 2014, Layden succeeded Jack Tretton and helped lead the company through the majority of the PlayStation 4 era. However, for one reason or another, Layden announced his departure from the brand in 2019 without providing very much context as to why he was moving on. Now, nearly two years after departing, Layden has spoken up more on his decision to leave Sony. In a new conversation with Bloomberg, Layden expressed that he simply felt like it was a good time to hand over the reigns to someone new at PlayStation. "It's a young person's activity. I felt: This is a good time to put the pin in my legacy," the former executive expressed. "That seemed like a good time to step off on top and allow another generation to take the PlayStation 5 to market.”

From Screen Rant

“A website domain update for Infamous has fans hoping that a new game for the superhero series in currently development. In 2009, Sucker Punch set aside Sly Cooper's stealthy antics in exchange for Cole MacGrath's electromagnetic powers in Infamous.
The open-world action-adventure title placed players in a world where they could either assume the role of hero or villain based on narrative choices. Those choices then informed how Cole's electromagnetic abilities manifested, giving players reason to explore the game in at least two separate playthroughs. Sucker Punch revisited its comic book-inspired world a couple of years later, as Cole's next adventure took him to New Marais - a New Orleans-esque setting filled with fresh gameplay possibilities.”

From Tomshardware

“Sony is one of the companies that does not hesitate to use proprietary technologies and standards if it needs to. It appears that, to improve the storage subsystem of its PlayStation 5 console, the company had to ask a third-party for help. But a big question is whether storage technology developed for the PlayStation 5 can be used for other hardware too. The latest game consoles from Microsoft and Sony have very efficient yet relatively inexpensive storage subsystems. Microsoft's Xbox Series X or S SSD was developed by Phison and supports the company's DirectStorage application programming interface (API) to save CPU cycles and NVMe protocol overhead. By contrast, Sony's PlayStation 5 uses a special compression algorithm to reduce file sizes and increase efficiency. While Sony's compression technology might be proprietary, it looks like Sony asked Marvell to develop it an SSD controller. Fritzchens Fritz, a well-known researcher of chips with access to a scanning electron microscope has published die shots of Sony's PlayStation 5 system-on-chip developed by AMD and containing IP from various companies, including Sony and AMD, and, Sony's CXD90062GG SSD controller that was apparently created by Marvell Technology.”

From Hypebeast

“Amidst all the news coming out of the PlayStation Showcase 2021, rumors of a Sony PlayStation 5 Pro model have now surfaced. Reports note that Sony is now developing an upgraded model of the PS5 with improved performance to deliver for the 8K gaming segment. The potential version of the next-gen console is expected to be equipped with AMD's Embedded G-Series SOC platform, a high-performance, low-power System-on-Chip (SOC) design to provide up to 8K resolution. Along with a CPU powered by the new AMD RDNA and Zen-based 5nm architecture for an enhanced gaming experience.
Reportedly set to be priced at $600-$700 USD, the rumored Sony PlayStation 5 Pro model is now expected to arrive in either 2023 or 2024.”
