“PlayStation has handed its Twisted Metal series revival to Destruction All-Stars developer Lucid games, sources have told VGC. According to the sources, the new car combat instalment – which by release, will be the series’ first in over a decade – has started early development at the Liverpool, UK-based studio. One person with knowledge of Lucid’s plans suggested that the revival would be built around a free-to-play model, partly in response to Destruction All-Stars’ last-minute transition from a premium game to a PlayStation Plus title.”

“Sony Allegedly Funding Kojima Productions Silent Hill Game. It’s the rumour that just won’t go away: a new Silent Hill game is apparently being bankrolled by Sony, and Death Stranding developer Kojima Productions is allegedly at the helm. Yesterday we reported that Konami is looking to reboot a number of its most popular properties, including Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania. As part of that report – first published by VGC, then later corroborated by Eurogamer – there was word of “multiple Silent Hill games” being “in development at various external development studios”. We already know one project is almost certainly being handled by Poland’s Bloober Team. But according to Gematsu, citing “a publishing source”, one of the Silent Hill games is being helmed by Kojima Productions, with Sony footing the bill.

“Konami is reportedly planning to revive its Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Castlevania franchises as it maps a return to the premium game space following an internal restructure at the start of this year. That's according to sources speaking to VGC, who claim the company wants to focus on its biggest brands after exploring the Pachinko business for the past decade. Plans for the series revivals are set to be officially announced next year at various industry events, with the first to release being a new Castlevania game. Sources tell VGC this new title will be a "reimagining" of the franchise, and is in development at Konami Japan, with local external teams lending support.”

“October’s PlayStation Now games have reportedly been revealed early, after multiple users claimed to have seen them listed on their consoles. According to Reddit users who saw the listings, the games include The Last of Us Part 2, Fallout 76, Desperados 3, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered and more. “

From Eurogamer

“Shin'en Multimedia's brilliant game - The Touryst - is now available for PS4 and PS5 consoles and it is now confirmed as the very first native 8K rendered game on the new generation of consoles, running beautifully at 60 frames per second no less. That's right: according to our discussions with the developer, the game internally renders at 7680x4320 - no temporal super-sampling, no reprojection, no checkerboarding, no AI upscaling. It's full-on 4320p.”

From Screen Rant

“The recently released PS5 patent blueprints provide a detailed look at the record-breaking console's inner workings, including its cooling system. The PlayStation 5 has been hailed by many as a marvel of engineering and gaming technology, and the console’s recently unearthed patent blueprints provide a closer look at its inner workings. Let’sGoDigital recently uncovered the utility patent blueprints for the PlayStation 5, just as it did for the console's development kits back in August 2019. These design schematics were filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment last September and describe how the PS5 was built in great detail across 121 pages of design layouts. Everything from the PS5's disk drive to its aforementioned cooling system is discussed, as can be seen below. The full patent can be viewed on Let'sGoDigital's site.”
