It all started with an issue involving my OS Blue Screening on me at the end of July. I removed the HD, put it in an external enclosure, then transferred all the irreplaceable files that I could find to my work laptop. I then put the HD back in and formatted and reinstalled my OS. Everything seemed fine for a few days, so I transferred everything back to it and figured I was done.

How wrong I was.

After a few days, it apparently refused to go to sleep. When I got up that morning, it had appeared to have rebooted and was unable to find a bootable drive. I powered it off and unplugged it before going to work that day. I got home and it booted up fine. I worked on it that night without incident and left it on as usual that evening. I then found the same thing had happened the next morning. I figured it was the SATA controller going bad, so I left it off and switched the controller that night. Next day, same thing happened. I now knew it was something wrong with the HD, like it was able to power down while the computer was still running, but unable to power back on without a cold boot.

I didn't think of this for about a month, though, and left my computer off all that time while using my work laptop to do nothing but read fan fiction. That's basically all I did after work for a little over a month. I finally registered a name on fanfiction.net in order to favorite and review stories, and proceeded to do nothing but that for awhile. Then I developed my theory about what was wrong with my HD and discovered that I appeared to be right. So I gave my computer something to do in the background so that the HD couldn't suddenly decide to power itself down and not function anymore: Windows Media Player on a repeat playlist and muted at all times. It wasn't glamorous, not by a long shot, but it seemed to work.

Still, my PC wasn't 100%, so I basically refused to do anything else still. I stopped posting on forums, stopped making and watching videos, and stopped caring in general about the rest of the internet besides the fan fiction I was reading. After about another month of it working out alright, the fix finally stopped working. I made the decision to switch out the old HD for another one of equal size, reinstall on that, and put the old HD back into the external enclosure in order to once again transfer all the old files.

I had realized well beforehand that I'd managed to forget to save my actual save files and savestates from both of my active LPs of Pokémon Red and Might and Magic II. As such, I have to discontinue them, since I'm not really feeling like starting those over right now. Now, my computer seems to be 100% once more, and I'm finally feeling like maybe getting back into the game (so to speak). I'll be doing all new series, though, rather than continuing old ones. I'm still going to finish the Diablo 2 series that we started, but it's only going through the end of Act V Normal and Cows. Nothing further than that (since it was something like two days after the last D2 session that my HD failed on me...).

I apologize to everyone that had been following my stuff closely, especially those of you who were still anticipating my continuing Red and M&M2. I apologize to those that participated on the D2 LP for taking so long with the rest of these video uploads. I apologize to the guys at the Shining Force Central forums for leaving the Team SFCD game back then. Finally, I apologize to all those on the different forums that I go to for disappearing so suddenly (RPGamer old-style Pokéboard, JUL, GameFAQs SF2 board, and SFC). Obviously I never planned to have computer issues, but still, It really sucks for all of you guys that I just wasn't there anymore and couldn't continue those things that I was already started in doing.

I mentioned in the video that I'm not just reading fan fiction anymore, but writing it as well. If you are interested, you can find my profile on fanfiction.net here:

Anyways, I'm really sorry for not being around as much as I should have been for the last two and a half months. I promise to eventually make it up to you guys in some way...
