Soul Calibur - Arcade version - PSX Mame - 1cc - (Tried to not use BLOCK)
Soul Calibur was a great improvement to the formula created with Soul Edge some years ago by Namco. This game was created using the namco system 12 hardware and was a FAIL on arcades being a game that was not much played.
The roster of characters initially is 'capped' and it is growing while the game is 'on' so this game grows on char selection while you play it (it will take months)
This is the last revision of the game and Mitsurugi was renamed to Arthur to fit the game in regions where the 'samurai' terms are prohibited by law (they redesigned the char a bit as you can see)
The emulator that i used to run this game is PSXMame, a derivative Mame version now discontinued that let you use Zinc and ePSXe plugins to give 3D acceleration on PSX based games. This emulator is based on Mame 0.133 so there are a lot of fixes now that this emulator don't have.
Some bugs may appear as you can see on Kilik stage or in Arthur stage because it glitches some effects that appears on them.
Fortunately a Dreamcast port of Soul Calibur arrived to the markets on 1999 and improved the formula of the original game with tons of extras (team battle, mission mode, new character,costumes,artwork,fan-artwork etc...) and graphics that leave you stunned looking at the screen. This Dreamcast port is always told to how to do an arcade conversion to a home console because it is one of the best ones ever created.
In this game you will see a 1 credit coin game trying to do not use block ( i don't remember if i use it accidentally) and the speed is a bit increased (i have an i7 and don't want to desync audio slowing the fps of the game). I used Ivy because it is the best one as range character. Not using block you need to be always searching the best position to attack and avoiding to be on enemy attack range.
PD: Epic final round and i hate Voldo in this game (wtf movements are that)
PD: Funny suicide 7:00
