Welcome to my first Saturday evening stream, which happens to be Soulstone Survivors! I've historically had to take Saturdays off, but I hope to do more of these since this one was a blast. I started out wanting to try an extension that promised to let chat pick my skills and upgrades for me... but as you can see, that didn't quite work out. In the end, we had to put that idea back on the drawing board and switch to our old favorite: the Solmare Challenge! (Explanation below the timestamps for those that want to give it a try for themselves.)

0:00 Starting Soon / Intro
7:29 Failing Today's Challenge (Chat Chooses)
12:18 Switching to Solmare Challenge!
3:35:09 Playing My Faves (for New Players)
3:55:56 Closing / Ending Soon

The Solmare challenge was created by Solmare, my friend and moderator, back when I used to play Spirit Hunters. It can be adapted to most games of this type, and I added onto it myself to tailor it to Soulstone Survivors. The general goal is to force players to try to survive as long as possible with cursed kits, which encourages you to use skills you wouldn't normally choose for yourself. It also helps break any particular crutches or habits you have when you're playing.

The setup: you'll be playing your lowest-prestige character at all times. Auto-aim should be turned on, so movement and dashing are your main sources of control. Which weapon you choose is up to you, but it won't matter much due to the other rules. Any runes you take are your choice, but avoid runes that give access to or benefit specific types of skill (for example, a rune that is more likely to give you Fire skills.) Also avoid runes that specifically increase your power if you have multiple types. You're not meant to gimmick your way out of this; the goal is to work with what you have, however crazy it is! Your starting map is also your choice. We recommend leaving curse tiers off for this unless you're really, really good at the game.

The rules: every time you level up and receive a choice of skill or power-up, you MUST take whatever the game loads into the leftmost slot. You may use whatever rerolls or banishes you have, however, since they're a limited resource and won't be able to save you forever. If the game gives you a choice of skills, and you are already full on skills, don't hit that "show me power-ups only" button. Instead, replace your oldest skill (aka the one you've had the longest) with whatever was in the leftmost slot you just got. Yes, even if you somehow put two Legendary buffs on it already. Even if it means your starting skills. Suffering is fun, right?
