Spawn - Medieval Spawn - McFarlane Toys Action Figure Review
Back with Series 5 of Spawn Figures, this time taking a look at Medieval Spawn!
Super thick and chunky, this figure is actually a lot bigger then the McFarlane 7 inch scale, standing at 8 inches tall! Placed next to other spawn figures really shows off how massive this figure is, something i didn't take into consideration when seeing online pictures.
One of the more obvious complaints on the figure is the lack of paint, especially in crucial locations like the arm gauntlet, and boot, two iconic pieces of armor that have been part of spawns design since the early comics.
Of course, with bulky armor action figures, the armor is pretty much guaranteed to restrict articulation, especially in the shoulder, and thigh area. Unlike the Space Marine figures, the large shoulder armor is not on its own peg, directly attached to the shoulders, giving little room for articulation.
Although the belt fairs a bit better, with cuts in the soft plastic, allowing just a bit more range on the legs.
With a hammer and sword accessory, we have some nice standing poses available with equipped weapons.
I preordered this figure for $20, and for that price, this is a lot of plastic, with some amazing details all over each plate of armor. Personally the lack of paint isn't that much of a deal breaker for me, ill apply some of my own black washes, and dry brushing, but for those who don't like customizing, for the price, its still a impressive figure, that will tower above your other spawn figures.
