Spawn: The Animated Series You Don't Know About
Todd McFarlane's Spawn (1997) animated HBO series debuted and had a couple seasons before being cancelled in lieu of HBO's live-action series at the time, the Sopranos, Oz, and so on.
Spawn was a remarkable indie comic series, however this was still not enough; McFarlane and Neil Gaiman had a lawsuit over it.
Spawn concerns a man, dead, hailed as an antihero, who sells his soul to the devil for a chance at life again. Al Simmons, who pines after his wife, Wanda, and his memories, whilst being reproached by old Cogliostro. Spawn still continues to this day in the written format, but who's to say about a sequel?
In 2004, Spawn: the Animated Series was in production, but McFarlane's haste halted that development quite swiftly.
