Spec Ops: The Line - FUBAR - Part 3 [Final]
"Do you feel like a hero yet?"
We quick scopin' an hittin' da willy pete.
Yeah, this game isn't long at all, depending on how yellow painted you are.
The ending of the game has spawned many many theories over the years.
My theory is: Martin Walker was in purgatory the whole game, and after the helicopter crash, they scare you by showing you eternal damnation if you don't stop. Then you get to decide his fate, "sewer slide" (can't say the other word) is a sin so that means he goes to hell, or be forgiven by Konrad (hint hint: God) and be relieved of all of your sins.
I mean, they even hinted that Konrad was God the whole time, there's an objective named: "Meet him upstairs".
Also in the epilogue, the military force that picks you up is named "Falcon One", and for some people Falcons are spiritual, also Falcons and angels have wings.
And by wearing Konrad's uniform, that means that Konrad has forgiven/trusts you and you can go "home" (heaven). But at the cost of carrying all of that guilt on your back.
Basically you're Konrad the whole game, and you get to decide whether Walker goes to heaven or hell.
Also a lot of people have said that Martin Walker is a generic protagonist name, but I think it's a reference to "Spec Ops: Ranger Elite", one of the artists for that game goes by the same name.
