Special Super Rajang VS Long Gunlance Super Regen Zombie Build. No Instant Carts MHRise.
After more than two months without hunting anything at all in monster hunter rise, I’m back in action against the most fun and interesting monster in the last months.
The special Rajang deals double the damage of the regular one and can one shot you with a couple of attacks while almost killing you with the rest.
To counter the high damage and to be one shot or wasting a lot of time healing I’m using my zombie build plus eating for moxie.
Moxie helps to avoid getting carted if I make a big mistake and for these attacks that almost kill you is where super regeneration comes handy.
In a mere seconds the super regeneration will raise your health high enough to moxie activate if you get hit another time shortly..
In this run in particular I don’t lose moxie but it is useful anyways.
I’m using two bomb palicos to support me.
The big barrels have the effect of always staggering any monster they hit. It can be useful for either saving you sometimes or you can exploit it as an opening when you time the explosion with a blast dash for free damage.
My two sources of damage are normal uncharged shells than are quick and safe and guard edge into wyrmstake.
Guard edge is the cornerstone of my run, basically you can punish almost every single thing rajang does with a wyrmstake by turning around.
Hitting the tail also does excellent damage and after two or three wyrmstake rajang will get out of Saijan mode and be knocked for several seconds.
With rajang in the ground you have time for example two fullburst loops, a wyrmstake and a ground splitter.
Ground splitter is useful but you should always prioritize guard edge over ground splitter. Guard Edge is your main way of defense and attack.
To get enough bugs to always have access to guard edge I’m running wirebug whisperer 3. Thanks to the palico’s power I always have three bugs with me.
I’m not running a single point in guard or guard up.
Guarding is something I barely do at all, using guarding edge should replace it. Thanks to super regeneration, the chip damage taken while guarding occasionally is a non issue.
Guard up is only useful for the beam. With a single point of guard up you can use guard edge to negate all damage but I had no room in my build.
Rajang is VERY predictable when it is going to use its beams. Almost always is after entering the berserker mode or after the rolling attack if you are at a distance.
With evade extender 2 you can avoid the beam quite easily by side stepping or using front steps facing to a side.
Remember whatever you do to upgrade your armor and get some defense boost to not be killed in one hit. As long as you survive one hit, you can heal back.
These are all the hints I can give you for the hunt.
For the full build you can check it after the hunt.
Thanks for watching
And see you in the hunt!!
