Speeding in residential neighborhoods is dangerous for everyone. We need to hear about this issue because it affects everyone who lives and visits the neighborhood. The problem is speeding is causing fear in pedestrians. They are scared to go for a walk or ride their bikes in the neighborhood.
I know some might argue it is your responsibility to watch out for cars on the road it is all of our responsibility the road is for everyone to share and use. I would like to provide some data on speeding in our state 47% of speed-related crashes are fatal.
I would like the neighborhood to place traffic calming devices in the neighborhood. The calming devices could be roundabouts or speed humps to reduce speeding in the neighborhood. The calming devices will not reduce value in homes, and they will save lives and provide safety. I think the community should have a say on what makes them feel safe. The community should vote on the matter.
