Spelunky is a rougelike, a randomly generating cave exploration game reminiscent of old-school Metroid/Castlevania. It is horribly difficult, and aims to teach precision, time management, strategy, and on your toes thinking, as you adventure to gather all the loot you can and go deeper and deeper in the mines while trying not do die. It is easily the funnest crap ever, and the original version is free to download for PC.
