Those of you familiar with Screen Rant's YouTube channel - which should be ALL OF YOU, incidentally - may remember our video positing the theory that Spider-Man: Far From Home's Elementals will come from an alternate reality.

That theory stemmed from the fact that, in the comics, the characters known as Hellfire, Hydron, Magnum and Zephyr did indeed hail from another universe.

Well now we have a new one for you - and it's the theory that Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio will be from an alternate reality too!

The master of illusion known as Quentin Beck typically comes from the same plane of existence as Spider-Man - but there's at least some evidence to suggest that won't be the case in the MCU.

It's mainly the fact that he is quite obviously a lot different to the classic version of the character, but there's a lot more to it than that. In fact, it's even suggested that Gyllenhaal - who was linked with the role of Spider-Man in the past - may be playing a version of the character who's an alternate reality version of Spider-Man!
