It's time to continue our hunt for Spirits, and the hotspot for such a task is on the Spirit Board! In here, every battle counts, and while we may not win them all, we'll try our best to! Without further ado, let's fight through these extra waves of Spirits and keep growing our already decently-sized collection!
The way the battles work in this mode is pretty similar to the ones we encountered in World of Light, however this time they're on a timed rotation, and we can only try them out three times before they disappear. Furthermore, we can't benefit from the boons of the Adventure's Skill Tree anymore, making even the easier foes a worthwhile challenge. It's also worth noting that winning a battle isn't enough to earn the Spirit either: we'll need to free each of them from their corporeal form through a short timing minigame after the fact too! Thankfully, items are there to help us get past all of those new mechanics, and while this may not seem like much, they do have the power to turn the situation around, be it in battle or on the board itself.
Just like in World of Light, only two fights per Spirit will be shown: the first one, and the final attempt, in order for the video to stay concise and entertaining. Enhanceable spirits will be caught twice (the second capture being done off-screen) to stay true to our complete Spirit inventory endgoal, and I'll also try to keep battle item usage to a minimum, because beneficial items like these are just not my thing. Additionally, at the beginning of each playing session, we'll make a short detour to the Vault Shop in order to keep expanding our unlockables collection. Since it's our first time through these menus, the entire menu sequence to get there is shown; it will be straight to the point in subsequent videos.
Please note that we're now playing on version 2.0.2. While the patch notes mostly consist of minor gameplay enhancements and bug fixes, the updating process also added five new Spirits to the Spirit Board rotation. Those Spirits will be marked with a * after their name in the timestamp list to differentiate them, as they can't normally be fought without updating the game (or having certain save files on the system in the case of the Partner Pokémons).
Finally, if you're wondering how we started this mode with so many Spirits in our inventory, it's because we already went through the entirety of this game's Adventure mode: World of Light. You can see the whole playthrough of that mode over here:
